HISTORY
Here we have provided but a sample of the historical photographs and documentation available in the E.F. Payne Rod Co. collection. Nevertheless, you will find a rich, chronological account of the foundational years for the Payne family, along with their partners and staff, and their impact on fly fishing community. Even a few U.S. Presidents make an appearance.
EQUIPMENT
The equipment shown here is the very same that can be spotted in the photographs and publication articles found in the History Collection. These photographs were taken in April of 2024 to highlight and share the beauty and reality of continuing 126 years of the finest hand-crafted bamboo fly rod manufacturing. Most recent to carry the rod, David Holloman proudly insisted that he too would craft the E.F. Payne rods on the same work bench (first image in the collection) as those before him.
